Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 Trailer Reunites Scream’s Matthew Lillard & Skeet Ulrich
Universal Pictures has shared a new trailer for Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, the highly anticipated follow-up to Blumhouse‘s 2023 supernatural horror movie. The sequel is scheduled to arrive in theaters on December 5, 2025.
“One year has passed since the supernatural nightmare at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. The stories about what transpired there have been twisted into a campy local legend, inspiring the town’s first-ever Fazfest. Former security guard Mike and police officer Vanessa have kept the truth from Mike’s 11-year-old sister, Abby, concerning the fate of her animatronic friends,” reads the official synopsis. “But when Abby sneaks out to reconnect with Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy, it will set into motion a terrifying series of events, revealing dark secrets about the true origin of Freddy’s, and unleashing a long-forgotten horror hidden away for decades.”

What happens in the Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 trailer?
The video teases what’s next for Mike, Vanessa, and Abby following the events of the 2023 movie. Despite seemingly defeating William Afton, they continue to be haunted by the animatronics at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, as more of its dark secrets get revealed.
The trailer highlights the return of Matthew Lillard‘s villainous character, offering a preview of his backstory. It also teases the appearance of Lillard’s fellow Scream vet Skeet Ulrich, who’s seemingly the father of one of William’s victims. This marks Lillard and Ulrich’s reunion project, nearly three decades after playing the first-ever Ghostface in the Scream franchise.
Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is directed by Emma Tammi from a screenplay written by original game creator Scott Cawthon. The ensemble cast also includes Josh Hutcherson, Piper Rubio, Elizabeth Lail, Freddy Carter, Theodus Crane, Wayne Knight, and Mckenna Grace. The movie is executive-produced by Tammi, Beatriz Sequeira, Christopher Warner, Russell Binder, and Marc Mostman, with Jason Blum and Cawthon serving as producers.
