Jessica Jones Stars Krysten Ritter & Carrie-Anne Moss Reunite in New Horror Movie

Krysten Ritter (Breaking Bad) and Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix) have been tapped to star in the upcoming creature horror thriller, titled Claire. This marks their first non-Marvel project, after first working together in Netflix’s Jessica Jones show, which lasted for three seasons from 2015 to 2019.

What do we know about Krysten Ritter’s Claire movie?

“The film follows a struggling single mother battling addiction, as a malevolent creature that feeds on despair begins to terrorize her and her two sons,” reads the initial synopsis. “As her fight for sobriety deepens, the line between inner demons and real monsters blurs, culminating in a harrowing battle for survival and redemption.”

Besides Ritter and Moss, Cameron Crovetti (The Boys) and Sarah Bolger (Mayans M.C.) have also been tapped to join the cast of Claire. It will be directed by Tracy Kleeman from a screenplay written by John Carlos Higgins, which is expected to have elements from hit horror movies like The Babadook, The Relic, and Hereditary. This project will serve as Kleeman’s feature-length directorial debut after being a longtime assistant to The Conjuring creator James Wan, who has also been her mentor.

The movie is produced by Matthew R. Cooper and Anna Dragoo for Objectively Good Media (OGM), along with Sterling Beaumon and Thomas Mahoney. Executive producers are Julie Kroll, Lior Haas, Lisa Wolofsky, and Edoardo Bussi of Twenty-Nine Palms Entertainment.

“As a staunch advocate for addiction and recovery stories, Claire brilliantly balances its creature feature/ horror elements with the frustrating realities of living with an active addict. I couldn’t be prouder of Tracy, Krysten, Sarah, John, and the entire team for shepherding this project to fruition,” Cooper said in a statement.”
