What is the Godzilla Minus One sequel’s title?
During Godzilla Fest 2025 in Tokyo, Japan, the title of the next Godzilla film was revealed, and it isn’t straying too far from its predecessor. The new film will be titled Godzilla Minus Zero and will once again be directed by Takashi Yamazaki, who directed Godzilla Minus One.
No other information about the film, including a cast, story, release date, or just what “Minus Zero” means, has been revealed as of yet. Alongside the title’s reveal, the logo for the film was also revealed, which was also created by Yamazaki.

Originally released in 2023, Godzilla Minus One is the 37th film in the Godzilla franchise, and the 33rd produced by legendary film company Toho. Despite the film not getting a very wide release in the U.S., Minus One was a smash hit. The film earned massive praise, and became the most successful Japanese Godzilla film, surpassing 2016’s Shin Godzilla, and was also the third-highest-grossing movie in Japan in 2023.
The movie earned $113 million globally against a budget of just $15 million, and also won an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects, becoming the first non-English language film to win the award. The movie has also been cited by some as reviving the popularity of the Godzilla franchise as a whole.
