Quentin Tarantino’s Starring in First Movie Since From Dusk Till Dawn
Quentin Tarantino is stepping back into the world of acting, where he’ll star in a new movie for the first time since From Dusk till Dawn.
What movie is Quentin Tarantino starring in?
Tarantino is one of the many stars of the upcoming Only What We Carry, the upcoming film from Charlotte Gainsbourg. Tarantino will appear in the film alongside Simon Pegg, Sofia Boutella, Liam Hellmann, and U.S. singer Lizzy McAlpine.
The drama has already wrapped production, and is described by Deadline as “a meditation on love, loss, and the quiet courage it takes to move forward”. Tarantino will reportedly play the role of John Percy, a character who arrives suddenly and “stirs long-buried truths.”
It’ll be a rare acting role for the legendary director. While he has cast himself in small roles throughout his own movies, Tarantino hasn’t starred in a movie not made by himself since 1996’s From Dusk till Dawn, which was directed by Robert Rodriguez.
Tarantino starred in that movie alongside a litany of stars, including Harvey Keitel, George Clooney, Juliette Lewis, Cheech Marin, Fred Williamson, and Salma Hayek. Outside of that, though, Tarantino has stayed away from the acting world, so it’s unclear what drew him to this next project.
As far as directing goes, Tarantino is still reportedly working on his tenth and final movie, although movement on that is slow. He was said to be working on a movie, titled The Movie Critic, but the director decided to move away from that project, leaving his next movie in mystery.
