Deliver Me From Nowhere director teased movie’s future

In an interview at the recent AFI Fest, Cooper hinted at the possibility of making Bruce Springsteen movies. He believes that many moments from the musician’s life could receive a “cinematic treatment.”

“I suppose if you can make four Beatles movies, you can make a couple of Bruce Springsteen movies,” Cooper said. “There are so many chapters in Bruce’s life, in all seriousness, that are quite right for cinematic treatment. That’s something, quite honestly, that Bruce and I have discussed. I think he really loves this film. He’s loved the experience.”

Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere is written and directed by Scott Cooper, based on Warren Zanes’ book of the same name. The ensemble cast also includes: Jeremy Strong as Springsteen’s long-time confidant and manager, Jon Landau; Paul Walter Hauser as guitar tech Mike Batlan; Stephen Graham as Springsteen’s father, Doug; Odessa Young as love interest, Faye; Gaby Hoffman as Springsteen’s mom, Adele; Marc Maron as Chuck Plotkin; and David Krumholtz as Columbia executive, Al Teller. It is produced by Cooper, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Eric Robinson, and Scott Stuber, with Tracey Landon, Jon F. Vein, and Zanes serving as executive producers

“The movie chronicles the making of Bruce Springsteen’s 1982 Nebraska album when he was a young musician on the cusp of global superstardom, struggling to reconcile the pressures of success with the ghosts of his past,” reads the official synopsis. “Recorded on a 4-track recorder in Springsteen’s New Jersey bedroom, the album marked a pivotal time in his life and is considered one of his most enduring works—a raw, haunted acoustic record populated by lost souls searching for a reason to believe.”
