HBO Max Price Increase Happening Now Despite Recent Feature Removal

Warner Bros. Discovery has announced that it has officially implemented price increases across all its HBO Max subscription plans. This new change comes after the company recently removed HBO Max’s CNN Max live 24/7 news feed feature, which was part of the platform for two years.

What are the new prices for HBO Max’s subscription plans?

Per Variety, as of October 21, 2025, the price of the HBO Max Basic With Ads plan has increased by $1 per month and $10 per year, while the HBO Max Standard plan has increased $1.50 per month and $15 per year. As for its HBO Max Premium plan, its price will now increase by $2 per month and $20 per year.

Listed below are the new prices for each HBO Max plan’s monthly and annual subscriptions:

HBO Max Basic With Ads

• Monthly – From $9.99, now at $10.99
• Annually – From $99.99, now at $109.99

HBO Max Standard

• Monthly – From $16.99, now at $18.49
• Annual – From $169.99, now at $184.99

HBO Max Premium

• Monthly – From $20.99, now at $22.99
• Annual: – From $209.99, now at $229.99

The company started making major changes to HBO Max last July, when it confirmed that it had decided to revert the streamer’s name to its original name. After two years of being called Max, the streaming platform is now once again called HBO Max.
