Spider-Man 4: MCU Star Pours Cold Water on Rumored Cameo
Daredevil: Born Again star Charlie Cox has addressed Daredevil’s rumored appearance in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, ahead of the Disney+ revival’s Season 2 return in 2026. The Tom Holland-led superhero movie will be arriving in theaters on July 31, 2026.
What did Charlie Cox say about Spider-Man 4?
During a recent interview with Brandon Davis, Cox has finally clarified the recent rumors about Daredevil’s potential appearance in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. He shot down the speculations by confirming that he isn’t filming Spider-Man 4 in London. This is actually in line with a previous report, revealing that Cox’s Matt Murdock/Daredevil isn’t part of the current cast for Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
“I know that they all think I’m in Spider-Man because I’m filming something in London, which I’m not,” Cox shared. “I’m not in Spider-Man.”
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is being directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a screenplay written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. The movie is led by MCU vet Tom Holland as he reprises his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Emmy winner Zendaya and Jacob Batalon are also expected to return for the sequel. They will be joined by recently announced cast members Sadie Sink (Stranger Things) and Liza Colón-Zayas (The Bear), Jon Bernthal (Daredevil: Born Again) as Frank Castle/Punisher, and Michael Mando as Mac Gargan/Scorpion, with Avengers vet Mark Ruffalo also reprising his iconic role as Bruce Banner/Hulk.
Recent rumors about Hulk’s potential role in Spider-Man 4 suggested that the hero might transform into the Savage Hulk, best known as the character’s aggressive and deadly alter-ego. The movie is produced by Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, Rachel O’Connor, Avi Arad, and Louis D’Esposito. Production is currently underway in the UK.
