Good Fortune: Keanu Reeves Reveals How Aziz Ansari & Seth Rogen Impressed Him | Exclusive
Keanu Reeves is no stranger to making comedy movies, but he still came away very impressed after working with Aziz Ansari and Seth Rogen on Good Fortune. Reeves had nothing but positive things to say about Ansari, who directed and wrote the film, which is now playing in theaters nationwide.
“Aziz worked really hard on the script and with the collaborators that he’s working with. I had rehearsals with him and his brother. Aziz has a great process to keep digging and looking, and [going], ‘What’s the scene about?'” said Reeves about the creative process behind Good Fortune.
“Then, working with Aziz and Seth on the floor during scenes. They’re both masters. They both can improvise. They’re amazing. But then also working as they craft a joke or a line or go from drama to comedy, they do takes where they just riff and then they also look to have the leanest, meanest version of it. So just watching their craft, on how they deal with dialogue, how they deal with jokes, but also how they deal with the truth of a character, and how those things all mesh has been really, really cool.”
