The Roses Digital, Blu-ray, & DVD Release Dates Set for Benedict Cumberbatch Movie

Searchlight Pictures has announced The Roses digital, Blu-ray, and DVD release dates for its latest black comedy, led by award-winning actors Benedict Cumberbatch (The Power of the Dog) and Olivia Colman (The Favourite). The movie is a reimagining of Danny DeVito’s classic 1989 film The War of the Roses, which starred Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner.

“In the film, life seems easy for picture-perfect couple Ivy (Colman) and Theo (Cumberbatch): successful careers, a loving marriage, great kids. But beneath the façade of their supposed ideal life, a storm is brewing – as Theo’s career nosedives while Ivy’s own ambitions take off, a tinderbox of fierce competition and hidden resentment ignites,” reads the official synopsis.

When are The Roses digital, Blu-ray, and DVD release dates?

The Roses will be available to rent or own on digital platforms starting on October 21, 2025. Afterward, the movie will then be available for purchase on Blu-ray and DVD on November 25, 2025. Since its theatrical debut, the movie has garnered a Popcornmeter rating of 79% on Rotten Tomatoes.

The movie was directed by Jay Roach from a screenplay written by Tony McNamara, based on Warren Adler’s 1981 novel The War of the Roses. The ensemble cast also includes Andy Samberg, Kate McKinnon, Allison Janney, Ncuti Gatwa, Zoë Chao, Sunita Mani, Hala Finley, Wells Rappaport, Akie Kotabe, and more. In addition to starring, Cumberbatch and Colman are also serving as executive producers, along with Jonathan R. Adler, Michael Adler, Cáit Collins, and Katherine Pomfret.
