Jumanji 3 Gets Major Update, Adds The White Lotus Star to Cast
Jumanji 3 got a major update today, with the next entry in the film gaining a cast member of The White Lotus and more.
What The White Lotus star has joined the Jumanji 3 cast?
According to a new report from THR, Brittany O’Grady, who is best known for her role in the first season of The White Lotus, is set to join the next entry in the Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart-led film. THR also notes that Burn Gorman, who appeared in movies like Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, is also joining the film.
As far as information on the movie, Jumanji 3 — which still does not have an official title — will once again be directed by Jake Kasdan, who directed both of the first two films in the new era of Jumanji films. Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan will once again be returning to star in the sequel.
Plot details remain under wraps at this time, but the third film in the series is being written by Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg. It’s not immediately clear if the real-world teenage versions of the characters played by Johnson, Black, Hart, and Gillan — played in the previous two movies by Alex Wolff, Ser’Darious Blain, Madison Iseman, and Morgan Turner — will also reprise their roles.
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle technically serves as a sequel to 1995’s Jumanji, which was based on the 1981 children’s picture book of the same name by Chris Van Allsburg. That movie starred Robin Williams, David Alan Grier, Kirsten Dunst, and Bonnie Hunt. A spin-off, Zathura: A Space Adventure, directed by Jon Favreau then came in 2005.
Jumanji has been a major box-office hit for Sony. The 2017 movie made over $950 million at the global box office, while the sequel brought in an impressive $801.7 million.
