How Next Spider-Man Movie Will Connect With Daredevil: Born Again Season 2

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is said to directly connect to Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. The speculation began after recent comments from Brad Winderbaum hinted at overlapping storylines and coordinated production efforts. The development comes as both projects prepare major releases that expand Marvel’s street-level narrative in New York City.

Marvel TV boss Brad Winderbaum talked about the connection between the two projects during an interview with Entertainment Weekly at New York Comic Con, and said, “We are communicating a lot with the team on Spider-Man: Brand New Day to make sure that there’s coherence there.” He added, “We don’t want to spoil anything, but it very much exists in the same world and it is important.”

Winderbaum explained that while both projects share continuity, they will retain distinct tones. “Just [like] the Daredevil comic books and the Punisher comic books depicted a certain tone and an idea of New York in a different way than Spider-Man’s, they both exist in the same universe,” he said, adding, “Everything lines up and the impacts are felt, but we’re able to tell different stories.”

The MCU first brought the two heroes together in Spider-Man: No Way Home. After Peter Parker’s (Tom Holland) identity was exposed, he sought legal help from Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox). The cameo officially brought Daredevil into the main MCU timeline.

Daredevil: Born Again launched on Disney+ in March 2025 and continues the Netflix storyline. Matt Murdock battles Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio), who becomes mayor of New York and tightens his grip on the city. In the finale, Fisk seizes full control and bans vigilantism. Season 2 has wrapped filming and brings back Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, setting up his upcoming standalone Punisher special.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, continues Peter Parker’s journey after the memory wipe in No Way Home.
