Jared Leto on if Star Wars Could Be Next After DC & Tron Movies
Jared Leto recently discussed the possibility of joining the Star Wars universe. He responded to fan interest during a promotional interview. The Oscar winner, known for his roles in major franchises, shared his thoughts when asked about stepping into the galaxy far, far away.
Jared Leto talks Star Wars movie or TV role possibility
Jared Leto spoke with On Demand Entertainment about the possibility of joining the Star Wars universe while promoting his upcoming film, Tron: Ares. When the interviewer suggested fans wanted to see him in a Star Wars role, Leto responded, “Okay, yeah. I mean, I love that too.”
He added, “I got a chance to be in Blade Runner, which was another one of my favorites. I got a chance to be in Tron, I got a chance to be a part of so many amazing projects, I really feel like it’s icing on the cake from here on out.”
Leto attended the Tron: Ares UK event in London and reflected on the long process of getting the movie made. “We have been developing the movie for almost a decade. I’ve been a fan for 40-something years. I walked into that movie theater when I was 11 or 12 years old and it changed my life,” he explained. He said he felt “absolutely excited” for audiences to finally see the project and described the journey as one filled with gratitude.
The actor also praised his co-star Jeff Bridges, who returns in Tron: Ares. “Working with someone like Jeff Bridges is absolutely incredible. He’s everything you think he is. He’s generous, he’s kind, he’s fun, he’s funny, and I just love him. I love his acting, and you know it made the experience of making Tron: Ares even better,” Leto said.
Beyond Tron and Star Wars speculation, Leto will play Skeletor in Amazon MGM’s Masters of the Universe remake, releasing June 2026 with Idris Elba, Morena Baccarin, Alison Brie, Kristin Wiig, and Nicholas Galitzine.
Joachim Rønning directs Tron: Ares, which features Evan Peters, Greta Lee, Gillian Anderson, Cameron Monaghan, and Elizabeth Bowen, and is set for release on October 10, 2025.
