Street Fighter Video Reveals Look at 50 Cent’s Balrog

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has become the latest Street Fighter actor to share a behind-the-scenes look at his character in the upcoming live-action movie.

Last month, Noah Centineo and Orville Peck offered first looks at their transformations into Street Fighter characters Ken and Vega, respectively. 50 Cent has since followed suit, sharing a video of himself as Balrog on the social media platform X over the past weekend.

“I don’t expect you to understand my level of discipline but watch it, it’s entertaining. Street Fighter Coming soon, then Street Fighter ll BALROG! All Roads Lead to Shreveport,” the caption on 50 Cent’s X post read.

Check out the first look at the live-action Balrog, featuring the character’s iconic hairstyle, below:

What is known about Balrog?

Balrog made his first appearance in 1991’s Street Fighter II: The World Warrior, as one of the opponents. A disgraced boxer who works for M. Bison’s organization, Shadaloo, Balrog was originally named for and modeled after real-life boxer Mike Tyson, with the character’s name in Japan actually being M. Bison. However, fearing legal liability, M. Bison’s name was changed to Balrog for the English localization.

Production on Street Fighter got underway last month in Australia, with Kitao Sakurai in the director’s chair. “Set in 1993, estranged Street Fighters Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo) are thrown back into combat when the mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament: a brutal clash of fists, fate, and fury. But behind this battle royale lies a deadly conspiracy that forces them to face off against each other and the demons of their past. And if they don’t, it’s GAME OVER!” reads the synopsis for the movie.

Joining the aforementioned actors as part of the Street Fighter ensemble cast are Jason Momoa as Blanka, Roman Reigns as Akuma, Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki, David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, Cody Rhodes as Guile, Hirooki Goto as E. Honda, and Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalsim.

Street Fighter is scheduled to be released in theaters by Paramount on October 16, 2026.
