Anthony Mackie’s Captain America Stunts Previewed in Avengers: Doomsday Set Videos
Marvel Studios’ upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie has received new set videos, showing a behind-the-scenes look at some of the stunts. The long-awaited next entry to the blockbuster superhero franchise will arrive in theaters on December 18, 2026, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars on December 17, 2027.
What do the Avengers: Doomsday set videos show?
On Instagram, stunt performer David Charles Warren III has posted a few set videos, showing off some of the potential Captain America stunts that he’s doing for Avengers: Doomsday. Warren has been Anthony Mackie’s stunt double since 2021’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. He also worked with Mackie in Peacock’s Twisted Metal show. In one of the videos, he can be seen practicing a flying stunt and superhero landing. Meanwhile, the other two videos show Warren doing some of Sam Wilson/Captain America’s fight moves.
Avengers: Doomsday is being directed by Avengers: Endgame filmmakers Joe and Anthony Russo from a screenplay written by Stephen McFeely. The latest installment will feature the return of Marvel vets Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Hemsworth, with the Oppenheimer actor set to play a completely different role this time in the form of Victor von Doom/Doctor Doom. The ensemble cast will also include Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Paul Rudd, Tom Hiddleston, Sebastian Stan, Florence Pugh, Tenoch Huerta Mejia, Lewis Pullman, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Hannah John-Kamen, Simu Liu, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, and Danny Ramirez.

The fifth installment will also feature the return of X-Men stars Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, James Marsden as Cyclops, and Channing Tatum as Gambit. Following the movie’s viral casting announcement video, Feige previously confirmed they haven’t revealed the entire cast yet, teasing more casting announcements in the future. Recent casting rumors suggested that Doctor Strange, Deadpool, Peggy Carter, Steve Rogers, and Spider-Man might also appear in Doomsday.
