Channing Tatum, Oscar Isaac, & More Cast in New Crime Movie Kockroach

Channing Tatum, Oscar Isaac, and Zazie Beetz have been cast in a new crime movie called Kockroach.

Kockroach is a new thriller set in New York City that is coming to the TIFF market next week. An adaptation of the novel by William Lasher, the film will be directed by Captain Fantastic’s Matt Ross.

What else do we know about Kockroach?

Deadline’s description of the film reads, “Pic is the story of a mysterious stranger who takes on New York’s criminal elite, transforming himself into a larger-than-life crime boss in a city where power is everything.”

You Were Never Really Here’s Jonathan Ames wrote the script for Kockroach, with revisions by Ross. Andrew Lazar is producing the film for his Mad Chance production banner.

Production is expected to begin in January 2026 in Australia. A release date for Kockroach has not yet been announced.

Tatum will soon be seen playing Jeffrey Manchester in Roofman, a new crime movie from Derek Cianfrance that will be released in United States theaters this coming October. He’s making his MCU return as Remy LeBeau/Gambit in Avengers: Doomsday, which is currently in production, while he’s additionally attached to another thriller film titled Josephine that co-stars Gemma Chan.

Isaac, meanwhile, will next be seen portraying Dr. Victor Frankenstein in Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein film, which is getting a limited theatrical release in October before it arrives on Netflix the following month. He’s starring in another film, In the Hand of Dante, that will hold its world premiere in the coming days at the Venice International Film Festival.

Beetz most recently voiced Diane Foxington/The Crimson Paw in 2025’s The Bad Guys 2. She’s working with Gore Verbinski on a sci-fi flick called Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die, which co-stars Sam Rockwell, Haley Lu Richardson, Michael Peña, and Juno Temple.
