What happens in the V/H/S/Halloween teaser trailer?
The V/H/S/Halloween begins with some light-hearted footage of children trick-or-treating, while the voiceover promises a “spooktacular anthology the whole family can enjoy.” Things quickly take a more violent turn after that, however, as the rest of the teaser trailer is full of ghosts, monsters, and lots and lots of blood.
“A collection of Halloween-themed videotapes unleashes a series of twisted, blood-soaked tales, turning trick-or-treat into a struggle for survival,” the official synopsis reads.
The six segments included in V/H/S/Halloween are Diet Phantasm, directed by Bryan M. Ferguson; Fun Size, directed by Casper Kelly; Home Haunt, directed by Micheline Pitt-Norman and R.H. Norman; Kidprint, directed by Alex Ross Perry; Ut Supra Sic Infra, directed by Paco Plaza; and Coochie Coochie Coo, directed by Anna Zlokovic.
V/H/S/Halloween will be the eighth film in the main V/H/S franchise, which includes 2-12’s V/H/S, 2013’s V/H/S/2, 2014’s V/H/S: Viral, 2021’s V/H/S/94, 2022’s V/H/S/99, 2023’s V/H/S/85, and V/H/S/Beyond. David Bruckner’s “Amateur Night” segment from the first movie was also adapted into a 2016 feature film called Siren, while Jason Eisener’s “Slumber Party Alien Abduction” from V/H/S/2 became a 2022 flick called Kids vs. Aliens. Additionally, there was a V/H/S: Video Horror Shorts miniseries released exclusively to Snapchat.
V/H/S/Halloween will be available to stream exclusively on Shudder starting on Friday, October 3, 2025. Fantastic Fest, meanwhile, is being held from September 18 through 25 in Austin, Texas. Click here for more information.
