Transformers Star Addresses Return Possibilities in Michael Bay’s Upcoming Sequel

As fans eagerly await an update on Michael Bay‘s return to the Transformers franchise, Josh Duhamel has expressed his interest in reprising his role of William Lennox. In a recent interview, the Daytime Emmy Award winner noted that even though he does not know much about Bay’s much-discussed Transformers movie, he is more than willing to come back to the franchise after a hiatus of eight years.

Josh Duhamel says he’d ‘love to do’ Michael Bay’s upcoming Transformers movie

While speaking with The Direct‘s Russ Milheim about his upcoming project, London Calling, Josh Duhamel answered some questions around the forthcoming Transformers movie involving Michael Bay. Although the 52-year-old actor didn’t seem to know much about the details of the project, he did admit that he would like to reunite with Bay on the same.

“I have not heard that,” Duhamel said of the proposed Transformers 8 film. “But yeah, why not? Michael Bay is such a talented dude. I just really, I really, really loved working with him. We did four of those movies. One, I did 1, 2, 3, and 5,” he continued.

Duhamel then joked about the career progression of his character in the Transformers movies, with William Lennox starting as a captain in the first film and reaching the position of colonel by the start of the fifth one.

“I shot up that, you know, I started as like a cadet and ended up like a lieutenant colonel or something. So who knows. Would I be a general at this point? I’ve definitely grayed into the spot,” he quipped.

Finally, the veteran artist disclosed his wish to collaborate with Michael Bay in the proposed Transformers 8 by simply stating, “Yeah, I’d love to do it.”

While Paramount Pictures has yet to officially confirm a new Transformers sequel under Michael Bay’s guidance, it has been reported that the filmmaker has already pitched an idea for a new movie to the production company.

The update also mentioned that Bay intends to serve as a “hands-on producer,” and potentially, the director of the project, and has assigned Jordan VanDina the job to pen the film’s script.
