Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s Action Scenes Pay Tribute to Movie Legend
Action legend Jackie Chan, who was most recently seen in this summer’s Karate Kid: Legends, has just revealed that he recently visited the set of Marvel Studios‘ Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
What do we know about Spider-Man 4’s action scenes?
In a recent interview with the Hong Kong–based news outlet HK01 (via ComicBookMovie), Chan shared that the reason he “went to London and visited the set” of Spider-Man: Brand New Day was because his Jackie Chan Stunt Team is working on the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie.
“My Jackie Chan Stunt Team was busy filming Spider-Man, and I was the action director for the Jackie Chan Stunt Team,” he explained.
Unfortunately, Marvel fans will not see Chan in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, as the actor added that he himself isn’t working on the movie. “I went to watch their rehearsals, and the director [Destin Daniel Cretton] was quite surprised to see me. I made sure he understood that they are part of my team,” shared Chan. The actor then praised Tom Holland, who portrays Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the MCU, for his work on the Marvel blockbusters, remarking, “I heard the young man paid tribute to my films in a lot of action scenes and has done stunts by himself.”
Spider-Man: Brand New Day began production on August 1, 2025, with location shooting in Glasgow, Scotland, before moving to Pinewood Studios in England for soundstage work. Set photos and videos from Brand New Day have shown Holland filming action scenes with a tank, while rumored plot details have also teased a fight scene with Jon Bernthal’s Punisher and Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, both of whom are confirmed to appear in the MCU sequel.
Other returning MCU cast members include Michael Mando as Mac Gargan/Scorpion, Zendaya as Michelle “MJ” Jones-Watson, and Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds. As for newcomers to the franchise, Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Tramell Tillman have been cast in undisclosed roles, with Sink reportedly playing an ally to Peter Parker and Tillman one of the secondary villains.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to be released in theaters by Sony on July 31, 2026, as part of Phase 6 of the MCU.
