Vin Diesel Gives Groot MCU Return Update, Teases Planet X Movie
A new update for Marvel vet Vin Diesel‘s next Groot project, seemingly titled The Arbor King, has finally been revealed. This comes after Diesel previously teased the project over a month ago in a now-deleted caption.
What did Vin Diesel say about the new Groot MCU movie?
On Instagram, Diesel has expressed his excitement over developing and writing The Arbor King movie, which is being described as the “long-awaited story of Groot’s return” to his home, Planet X. In addition, his post also included a key art photo of an unfamiliar version of Groot. Interestingly, he is accompanied by a seemingly older version of the Hulk. It’s still unclear if this key art has some connection to the project’s story.
At the moment, Marvel Studios hasn’t released any official statements about the Groot sequel. Should the project push through, this would potentially serve as the Marvel Cinematic Universe‘s first Groot-centered movie. The fan-favorite character was last seen in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. In the end, he and Groot were the last remaining original members of the team.
Created by Stan Lee, Larry Lieber, and Jack Kirby, Groot is an anthropomorphic, tree-like extraterrestrial creature who communicates predominantly through one phrase: “I am Groot.” Diesel has voiced the character in six MCU movies, including the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. The Fast & Furious star also starred in the animated short-form Disney+ series I Am Groot and in the television special The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.
