Wolverine: Logan’s Dafne Keen on if X-23 Is Returning to the MCU

X-Men fans aren’t the only ones who want to see Dafne Keen‘s X-23 in Avengers: Doomsday, as the actor herself recently stated that she is hoping to return as the fan-favorite mutant again.

What did Dafne Keen say about her return as X-23 in Doomsday?

During her recent appearance at Fan Expo Canada, Keen was asked whether she’ll be back as the female Wolverine clone X-23 in Avengers: Doomsday, which is already confirmed to feature over half a dozen X-Men members. Unfortunately, Keen didn’t have a concrete answer for those in attendance, simply responding, “I actually have no idea. I hope so.”

Keen first appeared as Laura Kinney/X-23 in the 2017 superhero movie, Logan, which was released by 20th Century Fox as part of its X-Men franchise. The actor received widespread acclaim for her portrayal of the young mutant, leading to reports that an X-23 spinoff was being planned. Unfortunately, once Disney acquired 20th Century Fox, the X-23 solo movie, as well as all other planned X-Men projects, was scrapped by Marvel Studios. Instead, Keen made her return as X-23 in last year’s Deadpool & Wolverine, where she helped the titular duo defeat Cassandra Nova.

Since the release of Deadpool & Wolverine, fans have been hoping that all of the members of Deadpool’s Void team would be brought back for the next two Avengers movies — 2026’s Doomsday and 2027’s Secret Wars — which are confirmed to be multiverse crossover epics. So far, Marvel Studios has only confirmed Channing Tatum’s Gambit for Doomsday, although trusted scooper MyTimeToShineHello recently stated that Keen would be in the next Avengers, as would Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) and Hugh Jackman (Wolverine).

As it stands, the only X-Men legacy actors who Marvel has confirmed for Doomsday are Kelsey Grammer as Hank McCoy/Beast, Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier/Professor X, Ian McKellen as Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto, Alan Cumming as Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn as Raven Darkhölme/Mystique, and James Marsden as Scott Summers/Cyclops. The Avengers sequel will also bring back several Marvel Cinematic Universe veterans like Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier), and Anthony Mackie (Captain America).

Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to hit theaters on December 18, 2026, as part of Phase 6 of the MCU.
