Longlegs Director Osgood Perkins’ Next Horror Movie Gets Title, First Details
Following the critical success of Longlegs and The Monkey, it seems like director Osgood Perkins is working on another horror movie. This comes ahead of the upcoming theatrical debut of NEON’s newest horror thriller Keeper, which will reunite Emmy winner Tatiana Maslany with Perkins.
What’s the title for Osgood Perkins’ next horror movie?
According to the World of Reel, Perkins’ next horror feature will be titled The Young People and will reportedly begin its production in “early October in Canada.” The project is being described as a coming-of-age horror thriller that will take place in a middle school. Further details about its potential release date and cast are still under wraps, but the outlet notes that the lead characters will possibly not be played by big-name actors.
“The movie follows Sue, who befriends a new classmate named Kitty. At first everything seems perfect, but soon Kitty begins to behave strangely and troubling red flags emerge,” reads the initial synopsis.
Following The Monkey’s debut last February, Perkins is once again teaming up with Neon for the upcoming theatrical release of his next horror thriller movie, Keeper, on November 14. Besides Maslany, the cast also includes Rossif Sutherland, Tess Degenstein, Glen Gordon, Claire Friesen, Birkett Turton, Erin Boyes, Christin Park, Gina Vultaggio, and more. In addition to leading the cast, Maslany is also serving as an executive producer.
“Keeper follows a couple as they escape for a romantic anniversary weekend at a secluded cabin. When Malcolm suddenly returns to the city, Liz finds herself isolated and in the presence of an unspeakable evil that unveils the cabin’s horrifying secrets,” reads the synopsis.
