Bill Hader’s The Cat in the Hat Movie Release Date Gets Major Delay

The upcoming The Cat in the Hat movie starring Bill Hader has received a lengthy delay of its release date, pushing the movie back.

According to a new announcement from Warner Bros. Pictures Animation, The Cat in the Hat’s release date will now shift to November 6, 2026. The film’s original date was February 27, 2026, and the animated movie will now premiere almost a full year later.

The Cat in the Hat stars Bill Hader in the titular role of the Dr. Seuss character. The rest of the star-studded cast features Matt Berry, Quinta Brunson, Bowen Yang, Xochitl Gomez, Paula Pell, Tiago Martinez, Giancarlo Esposito, America Ferrera, and Tituss Burgess.

“Meet the Cat in the Hat you don’t know! In the wonderfully whimsical tradition of Dr. Seuss, The Cat in the Hat, voiced by Bill Hader, comes to the big screen in his animated theatrical feature film debut, an all-new, epic adventure where mischief, magic and mayhem reign supreme,” reads the film’s logline.

The Cat in the Hat, which was published in 1957, was previously turned into a live-action film in 2003. Directed by Bo Welch, the movie starred Mike Myers, Alec Baldwin, Kelly Preston, Dakota Fanning, Spencer Breslin, Amy Hill, and Sean Hayes.
