Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse Gets Exciting Update
Spider-Verse stars Shameik Moore and Jharrel Jerome have finally shared an exciting update regarding the current progress of Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. This comes after the movie endured multiple creative setbacks, including speculations about script changes. The highly anticipated animated threequel is currently slated to arrive in theaters on June 25, 2027.
What’s the latest Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse update?
Posted through their respective Instagram stories, Moore and Jerome confirmed that they have officially started the voice recording for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. Moore will be reprising his iconic role as Miles Morales, while Jerome is also returning as the voice of Earth-42’s Miles G. Morales/Prowler. The latter was briefly seen at the end of 2023’s Across the Spider-Verse, where it was revealed that Moore’s Spider-Man gets trapped in another alternate universe after escaping the Spider-Society.
Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson are directing the film from a screenplay written by Dave Callaham, Phil Lord, and Christopher Miller. The voice cast includes Moore as Miles Morales, Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy, Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker, Nicolas Cage as Spider-Noir, John Mulaney as Spider-Ham, Issa Rae as Spider-Woman, Daniel Kaluuya as Spider-Punk, Karan Soni as Spider-Man India, Oscar Isaac as Spider-Man 2099, Jason Schwartzman as The Spot, Brian Tyree Henry as Jefferson Davis, Luna Lauren Velez as Rio Morales, and more.
At the moment, Sony Pictures Animation has reportedly also started development on a Spider-Punk spin-off, with Kaluuya attached to co-write the screenplay with Ajon Singh. In addition, after becoming one of the fan-favorite characters from 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Spider-Man Noir is also receiving a live-action TV adaptation at MGM+ with Nicolas Cage reprising the hero.
