Margot Robbie, Colin Farrell Revisit Their Memories in A Big Bold Beautiful Journey Trailer

Sony Pictures has released the trailer for A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, a romantic fantasy film starring Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell.

The official synopsis reads, “Some doors bring you to your past. Some doors lead you to your future. And some doors change everything. Sarah (Robbie) and David (Farrell) are single strangers who meet at a mutual friend’s wedding and soon, through a surprising twist of fate, find themselves on A Big Bold Beautiful Journey.”

What happens in A Big Bold Beautiful Journey trailer?

After taking a scenic drive through the countryside, Sarah and David discover a door that allows them to relive certain memories from their past. David heads back to his high school, while Sarah revisits a place she used to attend with her mother. These memories shaped “how they got to where they are in the present,” but they also might allow them to alter their future.

“This journey, I think it’s a chance for us to be happy,” David tells Sarah.

Kogonada directs from a screenplay by Seth Reiss. Farrell worked with Kogonada on his last feature film, 2022’s After Yang. Kevin Kline, Jodie Turner-Smith, Lily Rabe, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Billy Magnussen, and Hamish Linklater also star. Producers include Reiss, Bradley Thomas, Ryan Friedkin, and Youree Henley. Kogonada, Ilene Feldman, Micah Green, Daniel Steinman, John Atwood, Gino Falsetto, Ori Eisenm, and Paul Mezey.

For Robbie, A Big Bold Beautiful Journey is her first starring role since Barbie, Greta Gerwig’s Oscar-winning comedy that became the highest-grossing movie of 2023. Meanwhile, Farrell is coming off his critically acclaimed turn as Oz Cobb in the HBO series The Penguin, in which his performance was nominated for an Emmy.

A Big Bold Beautiful Journey opens in theaters on September 19, 2025.
