Orlando Bloom Says Pirates of the Caribbean 6 Could Succeed in Only 1 Way
With things around the much-awaited Pirates of the Caribbean 6 gradually starting to take shape, actor Orlando Bloom has come out to share his two cents about what will turn the potential project into a success. Bloom, who has portrayed the blacksmith-turned-pirate Will Turner in the fan-favorite franchise, recently opened up about his expectations for the yet-to-be-confirmed Pirates of the Caribbean sequel.
Orlando Bloom on how Pirates of the Caribbean 6 could succeed
During his August 16 appearance at the 2025 Fan Expo Chicago, Orlando Bloom remarked that, in his opinion, the only way Pirates of the Caribbean 6 can succeed is if it manages to bring the principal cast of the franchise back, including Johnny Depp.
“Everything is in the writing, right? Everything is on the page, and I think there’s definitely, I’m sure there’s a way to create something,” the 48-year-old actor stated. He then announced, “I would personally love to see everybody back. I think the way to win on that one is to get everybody back. If they can, and if everybody wanted to go back.” (via Entertainment Weekly)
In a recent interview, producer Jerry Bruckheimer expressed optimism in Johnny Depp’s return as Captain Jack Sparrow, noting, “If he likes the way the part’s written, I think he would do it.” Nevertheless, it remains unclear if Depp has agreed to come back to the Pirates of the Caribbean film series, after parting ways due to the legal issues in his personal life.
While Depp’s return to the franchise may continue to be a topic of discussion, Bloom seems enthusiastic about reprising his role of Will Turner, albeit under certain conditions. “The jury is out on how to do it again, but if [the script] was great,” the Troy star noted, he’d be more than happy to do the film.
