Super Troopers 3 Update: Cast Adds Brian Cox, The Boys Star, & More

Super Troopers 3 is happening.

Succession’s Brian Cox first played Captain John O’Hagen in 2001’s Super Troopers, a stoner comedy movie directed by Jay Chandrasekhar. Chandrasekhar plays Lieutenant Arcot “Thorny” Ramathorn in the film, while the cast also includes Paul Soter as Trooper Carl Foster, Steve Lemme as Trooper MacIntyre “Mac” Womack, Erik Stolhanske as Trooper Robbie “Rabbit” Roto, and Kevin Heffernan as Trooper Rodney “Rod” Farva.

A sequel to Super Troopers, titled Super Troopers 2, was released in 2018. Chandrasekhar returned to direct the movie and reprised his role, while Soter, Lemme, Stolhanske, Heffernan, and Cox also came back.

Per Deadline, not only is Super Troopers 3 now officially in the works, but the sequel movie will begin filming by the end of this week.

What else do we know about Super Troopers 3?

Chandrasekhar, Soter, Lemme, Stolhanske, Heffernan, and Cox are once again returning for Super Troopers 3, with Chandrasekhar again directing the movie. Joining the cast are The BoysChace Crawford as Baker Buchanan, Loot’s Nat Faxon as Captain Todd Markowski, and Saturday Night Live’s Andrew Dismukes.

“Broken Lizard has been part of the Searchlight family for over two decades, and we couldn’t be more thrilled for another entry in the Super Troopers saga,” said Searchlight Pictures‘ Matthew Greenfield in a statement. “Super Troopers has a way of making the absurd feel inevitable, and we can’t wait to bring audiences along on another adventure with these characters who leave a trail of joy and laughter, wherever their patrols may take them.”

Chandrasekhar added, “Broken Lizard is excited to help bring the theatrical comedy back. To America, we say, ‘It’s mustache-growing time!’”

Apolline Berty, Richard Ruiz, and Daniel Yu are overseeing the project for Searchlight. A release date for Super Troopers 3 has not yet been officially announced.
