Jennifer Lopez & Diego Luna Star in Kiss of the Spider Woman Trailer

Roadside Attractions has shared the official trailer for the Kiss of the Spider Woman movie, based on the Tony Award-winning stage musical by Terrence McNally, John Kander, and Fred Ebb. Following its world premiere at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, the film adaptation is now slated to arrive in theaters on October 10.

What is Kiss of the Spider Woman about?

“In the film Valentín, a political prisoner, shares a cell with Molina, a window dresser convicted of public indecency. The two form an unlikely bond as Molina recounts the plot of a Hollywood musical starring his favorite silver screen diva, Ingrid Luna,” reads the official synopsis

Kiss of the Spider Woman is written and directed by Bill Condon (Dreamgirls, Beauty and the Beast). Leading the cast are Diego Luna (Andor, Y tu mamá también) as Valentin/ Armando, Tonatiuh (Carry On) as Luis Molina/ Kendall Nesbitt, and Jennifer Lopez (Hustlers) as Ingrid Luna. Joining them are Tony Dovolani, Josefina Scaglione, Bruno Bichir, Aline Mayagoitia, and more. In addition to the Broadway musical, this Technicolor-hued fantasy movie also serves as the second film adaptation of Argentinian writer Manuel Puig’s acclaimed 1976 novel.

Lopez and Luna are also set as executive producers, alongside Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Mark Scheinberg, Dani Bernfeld, Kevin Halloran, Michael Joe, Mickey Liddell, Pete Shilaimon, Whitney Williams, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, Courtney Baxter, D. Matt Geller, Pamela Thur, Sam Weisman, Daniel Weisman, and Margaux Weisman. It is produced by Barry Josephson, Tom Kirdah, and Greg Yolen. Since its world premiere, the movie has received a Tomatometer rating of 83% on Rotten Tomatoes based on 40 reviews.
