Mark Hamill Resented The Human Centipede 2, Reveals Why He Rejected It
Mark Hamill, widely known for his stint as Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise, reportedly had a chance to feature in the infamous psychological body horror film, The Human Centipede 2.
In a recent interview, the veteran actor revealed that he was offered a role in the sequel to Tom Six’s Human Centipede flick, but decided to turn the opportunity down due to personal reasons.
Mark Hamill says rejecting The Human Centipede 2 was an ‘easy’ decision
While speaking with Entertainment Weekly about his upcoming movie, The Long Walk, Mark Hamill revealed that he opted to stray away from the 2011 Human Centipede sequel as the basic premise of the film made him feel disgusted.
“Someone said, ‘They want you to be in The Human Centipede Part 2,'” Mark Hamill noted before adding, “I said, ‘What’s The Human Centipede?’ They explained the premise to me, and I went, ‘Oh my God! Thank you for putting those images in my head, and I’ll never forgive you for doing so.'”
Hamill then remarked that it was a simple enough decision for him to reject the said offer, stating, “But that was an easy one. I said, ‘No, don’t send the script.’ The premise alone — I’ll never see one, and I really resent the fact that some human being thought of that concept of sewing people together, mouth to anus. Goodbye, and never enter my life again.”
The Human Centipede 2: Full Sequence follows the misadventures of Laurence R. Harvey’s Martin Lomax, who, after becoming obsessed with a body horror film, decides to create a “human centipede” comprising 12 real-life human beings.
Hamill also shared, “There’s a producer of Saw. He can’t go see those movies. He produces them and gets all the profits, but he just can’t stomach watching them. I think that’s really funny, ’cause me, I saw a premise in the trailer, I go, ‘Okay, thank you. Very good. Not for me.'”
Meanwhile, Hamill will be seen in The Long Walk, a dystopian thriller film based on Stephen King’s 1979 novel of the same name. The movie hits theaters on September 12, 2025.
