What happens in the Good Boy trailer?
The Good Boy trailer introduces audiences to Indy, an adorable little pup who moves into the country with his owner, Todd. Upon arriving at their new home, however, Indy begins to see things hiding in the corners and begins to fear for his and Todd’s safety.
The official synopsis for the movie reads. “Our canine hero, Indy, finds himself on a new adventure with his human owner—and best friend—Todd, leaving city life for a long-vacant family home in the country. From the start, two things are abundantly clear: Indy is wary of the creepy old house, and his affection for Todd is unwavering. After moving in, Indy is immediately vexed by empty corners, tracks an invisible presence only he can see, perceives phantasmagoric warnings from a long-dead dog, and is haunted by visions of the previous occupant’s grim death. When Todd begins succumbing to the dark forces swirling around the house, Indy must battle a malevolence intent on dragging his beloved Todd into the afterlife.”
In addition to Indy the Dog, the cast of the movie includes Shane Jensen, Arielle Friedman, and Larry Fessenden. Leonberg, who wrote the screenplay with Alex Cannon, makes his feature film directorial debut with Good Boy.
Good Boy will be released in United States theaters on October 3, 2025, from IFC Films and Shudder. The movie has been rated PG-13 for “terror, bloody images, and strong language.”
