The Last of Us’ Bella Ramsey Wants This Surprising MCU Role

After having already made their name in both Game of Thrones and The Last of Us, Bella Ramsey has said that they would be open to joining the MCU as Spider-Man. In a recent interview, the up-and-coming star revealed that they’d like to play the iconic web-slinger in a future Marvel project despite Tom Holland currently playing Peter Parker in the MCU.

While speaking with Variety‘s Marc Malkin at the HBO Emmys nominees event, Ramsey talked about the possibility of joining the MCU.

When asked if they had contacted their Last of Us co-star Pedro Pascal, who recently made his Marvel debut as Reed Richards in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, about featuring “in the next MCU movie,” Ramsey replied, “I don’t know about that. I could be Spider-Man.”

The Primetime Emmy nominated star then acknowledged Tom Holland’s critically acclaimed portrayal of the wall-crawling hero, before noting that Marvel may have to write a new character for them. “Tom Holland did a great job though. So maybe they do need to make a new [superhero] for me,” Ramsey said.

Bella Ramsey also revealed that they have only recently started exploring Marvel’s cinematic lore, starting with an Andrew Garfield Spider-Man film. “It was the first time I watched a Marvel film, and that was two months, three months ago,” they said before describing their experience as “Incredible,” and adding, “I loved it.”

While Ramsey may have to wait for some time before making their debut in the MCU, they seem to be clear about the next project they want to do alongside Pedro Pascal. “I think maybe like a heist movie where we’re robbing a bank together,” they said.

Ramsey and Pascal recently featured in Season 2 of The Last of Us series, which has garnered an impressive 17 Emmy nominations since its release. While the release date for Season 3 remains unknown at the time of writing, HBO CEO Casey Bloys has confirmed that the installment is “definitely planned for 2027.”
