Spider-Man 4 Set Photos Confirm Aunt May’s Age Before Dying

While Marisa Tomei’s debut as Aunt May in the MCU had many fans questioning her age due to her younger appearance in comparison to her other big-screen counterparts, the latest batch of Spider-Man: Brand New Day set photos seems to have finally answered the query. As such, the revelation has not only ignited a discussion around how old May Parker is in the current MCU continuity, but also around Marisa Tomei’s real age.

Aunt May’s real age revealed by latest Spider-Man: Brand New Day set photos

Freshly obtained images from the set of Spider-Man: Brand New Day disclose that Tom Holland’s Peter Parker will once again pay a visit to Aunt May’s grave in his fourth solo film.

In the aforementioned photos, fans can easily spot the gravestone of Marisa Tomei’s character, which reads, “May Parker – When you help someone, you help everyone.”

However, eagle-eyed MCU enthusiasts have also pointed out May’s birth year that accompanies her epitaph, which turns out to be 1964. Given that the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home occurred in 2024, it would mean that Aunt May was 60 years old at the time of her death.

Nevertheless, some fans have argued that Tomei’s character was 55 years old when she passed away due to the Blip. After Thanos exterminates half of the population in Avengers: Infinity War, Endgame witnesses the revival of every lost soul, albeit after a gap of five years. One fan explained this hypothesis about Aunt May’s age by simply writing, “55 because she got blipped.”

Interestingly, Marisa Tomei was also born in 1964. As such, the veteran actress was 57 years old during the 2021 premiere of Spider-Man: No Way Home. A second fan expressed their disbelief at Tomei’s age during Aunt May’s death scene by writing, “1964?? She was playing 60?? I thought she was more like 40.”

While it is natural to assume that Marisa Tomei will remain absent in the upcoming Spider-Man 4, the movie will feature the likes of Sadie Sink, Jon Bernthal, as well as Mark Ruffalo, among others. The film is currently on track to hit theaters on July 31, 2026.
