Beloved Rob Zombie & Ethan Hawke Horror Movies Get 4K Release

A pair of classic horror movies from Rob Zombie and Ethan Hawke, respectively, are getting 4K releases just in time for Halloween.

What horror movies are getting new 4K releases?

According to Lionsgate, Rob Zombie’s 2005 black comedy horror film The Devil’s Rejects, and The Spierig Brothers’ 2009 dystopian sci-fi vampire movie Daybreakers are both getting 4K UHD SteelBook releases later this year.

Up first, Daybreakers will be available on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and digital, in a special SteelBook, on September 16, 2025, from Lionsgate’s website. The movie, which follows the story of a scientist (Hawke) trying to engineer a blood substitute in a world that’s seen a global plague turn most of the world into vampires, also features a slew of new special features, including:

  • Building the World of Daybreakers
  • Art and Craft: The Actors of Daybreakers
  • Gag Reel
  • Art Department and Lighting Tests
  • Costume, Hair, and Make-up Tests
  • First Subsider Test
  • Make-up Effects Tapes
  • Stunt Department
  • On the Set of Daybreakers

Legacy Special Features also included:

  • Making of Daybreakers 
  • The Big Picture (The Spierig Brothers Short Film)
  • Audio Commentary with Co-Directors Peter and Michael Spierig and Creature Designer Steve Boyle
  • Theatrical Trailer
  • Poster Art Gallery

A month later, The Devil’s Rejects, the second installment of Rob Zombie’s Firefly trilogy, is set to release in a 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and digital SteelBook on October 14, 2025. Lionsgate and Fathom Entertainment will also partner together to celebrate the movie’s 20th anniversary with a nationwide theatrical release of the movie on October 6 & 8.

The Devil’s Rejects won’t get any new special features, but does feature several legacy special features on its 4K release, including:
