
KPop Demon Hunters Gets Sing-Along Event in Theaters
Netflix has revealed the theatrical release date for the KPop Demon Hunters special sing-along event.

Enjoy the music of KPop Demon Hunters on the big screen for one weekend only. KPop Demon Hunters A Sing-Along Event heads to theaters in the U.S. and Canada on August 23 and 24. Tickets go on sale Wednesday, August 13, at 9 a.m. EDT/6 a.m. PDT.
“When they aren’t selling out stadiums, Kpop superstars Rumi, Mira, and Zoey use their secret identities as badass demon hunters to protect their fans from an ever-present supernatural threat,” the official synopsis reads. “Together, they must face their biggest enemy yet — an irresistible rival boy band of demons in disguise.”
Voicing the K-pop girl group Huntr/x are Arden Cho (Rumi), May Hong (Mira), and Ji-young Yoo (Zoey). Additional cast members include Ahn Hyo-seop as Jinu, Yunjin Kim as Celine, Daniel Dae Kim as Healer Han, Ken Jeong as Bobby, and Lee Byung-hun as Gwi-Ma.
Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans directed KPop Demon Hunters from a screenplay they co-wrote with Danya Jimenez and Hannah McMechan. Sony Pictures Animation produced the musical film for Netflix.
Released on June 20, KPop Demon Hunters has become a phenomenon for the streamer. It’s now Netflix’s most-watched animated film of all time. With 158 million views, KPop Demon Hunters is fourth on Netflix’s list of the most popular English-language films.
More impressively, KPop Demon Hunters has crossed over into the mainstream. The soundtrack features original songs performed by EJAE, AUDREY NUNA, REI AMI, Andrew Choi, Danny Chung, Kevin Woo, samUIL Lee, Neckwav, and Lea Salonga.
The KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack is No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart, with more than 3 billion global streams to date. Golden, one of the film’s singles, is currently No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
