Captain America 4 Concept Art Shows Rosa Salazar’s Cut Villain

New concept art for Captain America 4, also known as Captain America: Brave New World, reveals what Rosa Salazar’s MCU villain character would have looked like.

Captain America 4 was released in United States theaters this past February. Directed by Julius Onah, the Marvel Studios movie stars Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America, Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres/Falcon, Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley, Giancarlo Esposito as Seth Voelker/Sidewinder, Tim Blake Nelson as Samuel Sterns, and Harrison Ford as Thaddeus Ross/Red Hulk/

Salazar — known for playing the title character in 2019’s Alita: Battle Angel — was originally cast in the movie as the villainous Diamondback; however, both her scenes were removed from the final cut of the movie. Seth Rollins had been cast as a member of the Serpent Society and his scenes were also removed, as Esposito’s character replaced both of them during reshoots.

What would have Diamondback looked like in Captain America 4?

On Instagram, artist Michael Blackbear Uwandi showed off some concept art for Salazar’s Captain America 4 character. View it below:

“Serpent Society for Captain America Brave New World,” the caption reads. “I did a few quick iterations of Diamond Back while sticking to the techwear theme. This, along with others, were to kick off different directions/vibes for the character. The snaked-themed gas mask was designed to be detachable around the muzzle, which would leave us with something closer to her original design.”

Marvel’s Captain America 4 is now streaming on Disney+.

“Anthony Mackie returns as the high-flying hero Sam Wilson, who’s officially taken up the mantle of Captain America,” the synopsis for the movie reads. “After meeting with newly elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross, Sam finds himself in the middle of an international incident. He must discover the reason behind a nefarious global plot before the true mastermind has the entire world seeing red.”
