New Mortal Kombat 2 Image Reveals New Noob Saibot Look

With the hype for the upcoming Mortal Kombat 2 on the rise, a brand new look for Joe Taslim’s Noob Saibot has hit the internet to add fuel to the flames. After featuring in the newly released trailer for the sequel, Bi-Han has now received a closer glance at his revived avatar, with director Simon McQuoid also explaining how his final look came to be alongside the reveal.

New image of Bi-Han’s Noob Saibot in Mortal Kombat 2 revealed

A new image of Noob Saibot, who is making his debut in the ongoing Mortal Kombat franchise with the much-awaited Mortal Kombat 2, was recently unveiled.

The said photo was revealed during Collider’s Exclusive Preview event for forthcoming movies. After meeting his supposed end in the first film, Joe Taslim’s Bi-Han will be making a stunning return as Noob Saibot in the second part. The aforementioned picture of the character showcases a close-up of Noob Saibot. It focuses on his empty white eyes and masked face in the backdrop of the Netherrealm.

Talking about Bi-Han’s updated costume following his resurrection from the depths of hell, director Simon McQuoid noted, “Since he spends almost all the film in the deep orange-red light of Netherrealm, we knew the costume would reflect the environment and light beautifully.”

McQuoid then explained the visual composition of Noob Saibot’s re-match against Hiroyuki Sanada’s Scorpion. He said, “The Scorpion vs. Bi-Han fight in Netherrealm was complex, so we used different colors taken from his powers in the games to help the audience distinguish between the characters; dark purple for his shadow, and a dark graphite grey for him.”

Simon McQuoid says Noob Saibot ‘looks awesome’ because of Mortal Kombat 2’s costume desginer

After the Noob Saibot look reveal, Simon McQuoid praised Mortal Kombat 2’s costume designer, Cappi Ireland, and her team. He lauded them for conceptualizing the “awesome” appearance of the character.

Having taken inspiration from the most recent version of the game to design Noob Saibot’s look, McQuoid disclosed that “Cappi had the brilliant idea of creating unique materials and finishes that would reflect the light while always being true to Bi-Han’s singular idea of being a shadow. His body was made of low-gloss textured black rubber under-skin, while his armour was organic in style and featured a dark grey pearlescent reflective finish.”

Meanwhile, fans will be able to catch the beloved character in Mortal Kombat 2, which hits theaters on October 24, 2025.
