What do we know about Margot Robbie & Tim Burton’s Attack of the 50 Foot Woman?
In the original Attack of the 50 Foot Woman, Allison Hayes stars as Nancy Fowler Archer, a wealthy heiress who grows to be a giant after an encounter with an alien. Nathan Hertz directed the film from a screenplay by Mark Hanna. The film went on to become a cult classic.
In February 2024, Deadline reported Burton’s attachment to direct the reimagining of Attack of the 50 Foot Woman. Gone Girl scribe Gillian Flynn signed on to write the script. However, the project is seeking a new writer to pen the next draft, as Flynn has other commitments.
Robbie and LuckyChap will produce alongside Burton, Wednesday’s Andrew Mittman, and Tommy Harper. Kai Dolbashian will serve as an executive producer.
Robbie has not headlined a film since Barbie, the highest-grossing movie of 2023. Robbie starred as the titular character based on the Mattel doll. Barbie became a financial and critical hit, garnering eight Academy Award nominations, winning one for Best Original Song.
Robbie has filmed several movies that will be released in the coming months. Robbie will star alongside Colin Farrell in Kogonada’s A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, which opens in theaters on September 19, 2025.
Robbie is the star and producer of Wuthering Heights, a Gothic psychological drama based on Emily Brontë’s 1847 novel. Oscar-winner Emerald Fennell wrote and directed the movie. Jacob Elordi, Owen Cooper, Shazad Latif, Hong Chau, and Alison Oliver also star. Wuthering Heights opens in theaters on February 13, 2026.
