Fantastic Four: First Look at Paul Walter Hauser’s Mole Man Villain Revealed

The first image of Paul Walter Hauser as Mole Man in The Fantastic Four: First Steps has been revealed.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps will be released next weekend. The Marvel movie is directed by Matt Shakman and stars Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing, and Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm.

The main villains that the Fantastic Four will be facing in First Steps are Galactus, played by Ralph Ineson, and Julia Garner’s Shalla-Bal/Silver Surfer; however, it is also known that Hauser will be playing Mole Man, a character created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, as well.

What does Fantastic Four’s Mole Man character look like?

USA Today has revealed the first official picture of Hauser as Mole Man. View the image, via DiscussingFilm on X, below:

Shakman said that the MCU version of Mole Man is “really more of a union boss than a supervillain.” He also said of the character’s relationship with the Fantastic Four, “It’s a power struggle, but within that, there are compromises and alliances made. He’s all about community, and that’s why Sue and Harvey have a good relationship, and they get along. They understand each other.”

Hauser, meanwhile, said of First Steps’ take on Mole Man, “He is living sort of in the shadows like a villain would, but he’s also taking care of an entire race of people and trying to live his life without being bothered.”

The official synopsis for the film reads, “Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Marvel’s First Family — Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they face their most daunting challenge yet. Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.”

The Fantastic Four: First Steps hits United States theaters on July 25, 2025.
