A new update confirms that DC Studios is actively developing Batman and Wonder Woman movies under its rebooted DCU. In a recent interview, Warner Bros. David Zaslav on what’s next for DCU after Superman
Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav confirmed in an interview with The New York Times that DC Studios is actively developing new Batman and Wonder Woman films. “Supergirl has already been shot. They’re working on Wonder Woman. They’re working on Batman,” Zaslav said, highlighting the studio’s 10-year strategy under James Gunn and Peter Safran. Zaslav emphasized that DC was previously underdeveloped and now represents the studio’s biggest strategic opportunity.
James Gunn, co-CEO of DC Studios, reiterated this during an interview with Urbana Play, stating that both The Brave and the Bold and the new Wonder Woman film are currently in the scripting stage.
“It’s not gonna be ’till the script is ready. Both of the scripts are being written now, and if they’re good, then we’ll go to production immediately,” Gunn said. He added that he refuses to begin production without a script he feels is “fantastic,” especially for legacy characters like Batman and Wonder Woman.
The Brave and the Bold will introduce a new Batman alongside Damian Wayne as Robin. The film is directed by Andy Muschietti and will establish the Bat-Family within the DCU. The Wonder Woman reboot will continue the mythology of Diana Prince, though casting and plot details remain unannounced.
Zaslav praised Gunn and Safran’s leadership following Superman’s theatrical success, calling the film part of a strategic turnaround that has helped Warner Bros. release five consecutive box office hits. Gunn wrote and directed Superman, starring David Corenswet, which grossed an estimated $122 million domestically during its opening weekend.
Zaslav also confirmed that future DCU projects will proceed with a quality-first approach, mirroring the studio’s renewed direction.
