Chris Hemsworth Talks Avengers: Doomsday, What MCU Location Won’t Appear

An important location from Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and Thor: Love and Thunder will seemingly not be featured in Marvel Studios‘ highly anticipated Avengers: Doomsday movie. Production on the next installment to the blockbuster franchise is currently underway, just in time for its theatrical release on December 18, 2026.

What MCU location won’t appear in Avengers: Doomsday?

During a recent interview with Sunday Mail, while recalling his experience filming in Scotland for Infinity War and Endgame, Marvel vet Chris Hemsworth confirmed that Avengers: Doomsday won’t have any scenes to film in the said country. This seemingly hints that Doomsday won’t get to revisit New Asgard since scenes for the fictional village were filmed at a real fishing village in the Scottish Borders.

“Filming The Avengers in Scotland was a really cool experience,” Hemsworth said. “It doesn’t look like we are coming back for Doomsday. But I’d love to not only visit there again but to film and do more work in the country. The people are amazing. There is something majestic about the Highlands, I’d love to do another movie there one day. It’s just a place made for an iconic battle scene. The backdrop is just stunning.”

Avengers: Doomsday is being directed by Avengers: Endgame filmmakers Joe and Anthony Russo from a screenplay written by Stephen McFeely. The latest installment will feature Oscar winner Robert Downey Jr. as he signs on for the role of Victor von Doom/Doctor Doom. The ensemble cast will also include MCU stars Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Paul Rudd, Sebastian Stan, Florence Pugh, Kelsey Grammer, Lewis Pullman, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Anthony Mackie, Letitia Wright, Tenoch Mejia Huerta, Danny Ramirez, Simu Liu, Winston Duke, Hannah John-Kamen, and more. Most of them were recently spotted in Bahrain, confirming that the sixth Avengers movie will also be filming in other locations besides Pinewood Studios in England.
