Lilo & Stitch Set To Cross Massive 2025 Box Office Milestone

Disney’s live-action Lilo & Stitch movie is inching closer to the billion-dollar mark at the box office. Passing this milestone would make it the first Hollywood movie of 2025 to make a billion at the box office. Directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, the film features a talented cast, including Maia Kealoha as Lilo, Chris Sanders as the voice of Stitch, and Sydney Agudong.

Lilo & Stitch to cross $1 billion at worldwide box office

The 2025 Lilo & Stitch movie is getting closer to grossing $1 billion globally at the box office. According to Box Office Mojo, the Disney live-action adaptation has grossed over $994 million at the worldwide box office at the time of writing, just $6 million away from the milestone.

$414 million of the total comes from US theaters, which accounts for 41.7 percent of the total gross. It has also amassed an estimated $579 million from international markets, which makes up 58.3 percent of the total collection. The movie has been raking in huge numbers at the box office for approximately eight weeks now.

Despite facing competition from newly released movies like Brad Pitt’s F1, Scarlett Johansson’s Jurassic World Rebirth, and James Gunn’s recently released Superman, Lilo & Stitch has managed to continue adding to its box office haul. Following its massive success, Disney greenlit a sequel to the movie on June 26th, which is also known as 626 day. The day is celebrated as a reference to Stitch, who is also known as Experiment 626.

After the film’s initial success, Disney’s co-Chairman, Alan Bergman, said, “The love that people have for Lilo & Stitch continues to grow, and the goal with this new retelling was for audiences to be able to enjoy these characters on the big screen again and hopefully have just as much fun watching it as we had making it.”
