Pamela Anderson Reveals Naked Gun Role She Almost Played

Pamela Anderson is set to appear in the upcoming The Naked Gun reboot, and recently revealed that she almost starred in the franchise in the 1990s.

What role in Naked Gun did Pamela Anderson almost play?

Speaking to Empire Magazine, Anderson revealed that she nearly starred in 1994’s Naked Gun 33 1⁄3: The Final Insult. Her role, Anderson said, was what Anna Nicole Smith ended up playing, Tanya Peters, Rocco’s (Fred Ward) girlfriend and a nurse at a fertility clinic.

According to Anderson, she simply was unable to play the movie due to being too busy at the time, something she doesn’t necessarily regret.

“The part that Anna Nicole [Smith] played, I almost played,” Anderson said. “It was just scheduling. I couldn’t do it. But it’s good: I’d rather play this role.”

The legendary actress also went on to talk about her role in the upcoming reboot, saying she “had a ball” while filming it and loved working alongside star Liam Neeson.

We just had a ball. I was always showering him with loaves of bread and cookies and muffins,” said Anderson. “There was a little book-shop on the set, and he found this poetry book by Ibsen, and he was explaining to me a little bit about him. And then for his birthday, I got him a first-edition Hemingway. He’s always got a book in hand, and the same with me.”

The Naked Gun is directed and executive produced by Akiva Schaffer of The Lonely Island comedy group (Hot Rod), who has been attached to helm the reboot since 2022. The cast also includes Paul Walter Hauser, CCH Pounder, Kevin Durand, Cody Rhodes, Liza Koshy, and Eddie Yu, with Danny Huston. Schaffer also co-wrote the screenplay with Dan Gregor and Doug Mand. It is also produced by Seth MacFarlane and Erica Huggins for Fuzzy Door, with Daniel M. Stillman, Pete Chiappetta, Anthony Tittanegro, and Andrew Lary executive producing.

The Naked Gun is set to release in theaters on August 1, 2025.
