Superman Cast Salaries Revealed, Nicholas Hoult Makes More Than Co-Stars
The official salaries for the leading trio of the Superman cast have been released, confirming that titular star David Corenswet is not the movie’s highest-paid cast member. DC Studios’ first DC Universe movie is now playing in theaters worldwide.
“In his signature style, James Gunn takes on the original superhero in the newly imagined DC universe with a singular blend of epic action, humor, and heart, delivering a Superman who’s driven by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind,” reads the synopsis.
What are the Superman cast salaries?
According to a new report from Puck, Golden Globe and Emmy nominee Nicholas Hoult has reportedly earned $2 million for signing on as the DCU’s Lex Luthor, making him the highest-paid actor in the Superman cast. Prior to joining the DCU, Hoult is best known for his roles in Fox’s X-Men franchise, Warm Bodies, and Mad Max: Fury Road.
As for his co-stars, Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan, they have only received $750,000. This is due to neither of them having much experience yet in starring in movie franchises or blockbusters, despite Brosnahan’s critically acclaimed TV background. Like most leads of superhero movies, Hoult, Corenswet, and Brosnahan are also in line for bonuses if Superman performs well at the box office.
Superman was written and directed by James Gunn, based on the DC characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. The movie also star Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Mikaela Hoover as Cat Grant, Beck Bennett as Steve Lombard, María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Anthony Carrigan as Metarmorpho, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Edi Gathegi, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, Pruitt Taylor Vince as Jonathan Kent, and Neva Howell as Martha Kent, along with Alan Tudyk, Michael Rooker, and Grace Chan. It was executive produced by Nikolas Korda, Chantal Nong Vo, and Lars Winther.
