The Thing Gets Another Bearded Look in New Fantastic Four Spot
The latest footage of The Fantastic Four: First Steps showcases a new look at The Thing’s beard in the movie. The beard was first revealed in the final trailer of the film. The Fantastic Four: First Steps hits theaters on July 25, 2025. Apart from introducing Marvel’s first family, it will also mark the start of Phase Six of the MCU.
Fantastic Four footage spotlights the Thing’s beard again
A new clip of The Fantastic Four: First Steps was recently posted on X (formerly Twitter) by the user Cosmic Marvel, wherein fans got a fresh look at The Thing’s beard.
The clip starts with a shot of Galactus walking on the streets of New York and then cuts to an exchange between Reed Richards, Johnny Storm, and the Thing. As Johnny asks Richards about the plan seemingly to fight Galactus, the next shot shows Richards saying, “Trust me.”
This leads to Johnny saying he is not fond of the plan. On the other hand, the Thing labels Richards’ plan as “bad.” In this frame, the Thing, aka Ben Grimm, can be seen sporting a rocky beard.
In the previously released final trailer, the Thing’s beard was disclosed as he appeared to be falling from the sky, with Johnny behind him. The Thing’s beard is one of the most significant additions to the character’s appearance in the live-action version. Although the detail surprised fans when it was first unveiled, the beard is actually comic-accurate.
Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Bachrach appear in The Fantastic Four: First Steps as Reed, Sue Storm, Johnny, and The Thing, respectively. Apart from them, Julia Garner plays the role of the Silver Surfer in the movie.
