Sherlock Holmes 3 Gets Disappointing Update From James Moriarty Actor
While fans of Guy Ritchie’s take on Sherlock Holmes continue to wait for news on a third installment in the franchise, actor Jared Harris has come out to provide a disappointing update about Sherlock Holmes 3. In a recent discussion, the British actor, who played Professor James Moriarty in Sherlock Holmes 2, opened up about the possibility of the much-awaited threequel, noting that he has yet to hear about any plans regarding the project.
Jared Harris doesn’t want people to ask him about Sherlock Holmes 3
During a recent interview with The Direct, Harris touched upon the fate of a third addition to the Robert Downey Jr.-led film series, stating that no one has approached him with any propositions for Sherlock Holmes 3 as of yet.
When asked about an update on the project, the Chernobyl star jokingly noted that he regularly messes with the movie’s IMDb page in order to quell the fire surrounding Sherlock Holmes 3. “Yeah. I mean, I keep taking that down [on IMDb], and someone keeps putting it back up,” the 63-year-old actor said.
Harris then added that he is oblivious of any plans for Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes 3, considering that they exist. He even petitioned fans to stop asking him about the project, stating, “I have no idea. No one’s talking to me about it. And I really wish people would stop asking me… It should be on there. I mean, no one’s talking to me about it. I have no clue.”
The Golden Globe nominee embodied the role of the villainous James Moriarty in 2011’s Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. In the flick, Harris’ character ends up coming face to face with Robert Downey Jr.’s titular detective, after the latter successfully puts an end to his schemes. The duo seemingly falls to their deaths in the climax, before the conclusive moments of the film reveal that Holmes had actually survived the encounter.
Despite A Game of Shadows leaving enough creative room for Sherlock Holmes 3 to take place, Warner Bros. has yet to share any update about the film in recent times.
