A new promo has revealed the first official look at the Hall of Justice in James Gunn’s upcoming film, Superman. The footage confirms the long-rumored location and highlights its connection to Maxwell Lord, who now owns the facility. The reveal comes after months of speculation following early set photos from Cincinnati in 2024.
Superman’s Toyota promo shows how DCU’s Hall of Justice looks
A new promotional tie-in video from Toyota reveals the first official look at the Hall of Justice as it appears in Superman.
The structure seems to be under construction and is notably owned by businessman Maxwell Lord, played by Sean Gunn. Director James Gunn confirmed, “You see the Hall of Justice, and you see that it’s not even finished yet. It’s owned by Maxwell Lord, and he owns the Justice Gang.”
The Hall’s design draws from the real-life Union Terminal in Cincinnati, which served as the filming location. This location also inspired the original design for the Hall of Justice in the 1970s Super Friends animated series. Gunn has previously stated that the Justice League has not yet formed in the DC Universe at this stage of the story, despite Superman being active for three years.
Filming for Superman included scenes in Cleveland and Cincinnati in early 2024, where speculation began about the Hall’s inclusion. The new footage, tied to a Toyota bZ electric car promo, shows Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan) against the backdrop of the partially constructed Hall of Justice.
James Gunn wrote and directed Superman, which will release in theaters on July 11, 2025. Prime Video will offer early screenings to subscribers on July 8.
The film stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. Supporting characters include Nathan Fillion (Guy Gardner), Isabela Merced (Hawkgirl), Edi Gathegi (Mister Terrific), and Milly Alcock (Supergirl). The ensemble also features María Gabriela de Faría (Angela Spica), Anthony Carrigan (Metamorpho), and Wendell Pierce (Perry White).
