Roofman Trailer: Channing Tatum & Kirsten Dunst Star in Crime Movie

Paramount Pictures has released the official trailer for Roofman, an upcoming crime movie starring Channing Tatum and Kirsten Dunst.

Roofman is based on the true story of former Army Ranger Jeffrey Manchester (Tatum), a struggling father and escaped convict who robbed many McDonald’s restaurants by entering through the roof. Manchester’s nickname was “Roofman.” To evade capture, Manchester holed up inside a Toys “R” Us.

What happens in the Roofman trailer?

“It’s been six months, and still no leads on the whereabouts of the escaped convict known as the Roofman,” a voiceover says in the trailer. The footage cuts to Manchester living in the walls of a Toys “R” Us. Manchester managed to disable the recording devices, making it possible to live there in secret. He’s seen fooling around in the store after hours to pass the time.

Manchester’s life changes when he meets Leigh, played by Dunst. Leigh is “a divorced mom drawn to his undeniable charm.” With Leigh in his life, Manchester starts to contemplate giving up his criminal ways. “His double life begins to unravel,” the official synopsis reads, “setting off a compelling and suspenseful game of cat and mouse as his past closes in.”

Roofman also stars Ben Mendelsohn, LaKeith Stanfield, Juno Temple, Melonie Diaz, Uzo Aduba, Lily Collias, Jimmy O. Yang, and Peter Dinklage.

Derek Cianfrance directs Roofman from a screenplay he co-wrote with Kirt Gunn. Producers include Jamie Patricof, Lynette Howell Taylor, Alex Orlovsky, Duncan Montgomery, and Dylan Sellers.

Tatum and Cianfrance are listed as executive producers alongside Jonathan Montepare, Charles M. Barsamian, Chris Parker, Tyler Zacharia, Matthew von Waaden, D. Mark von Waaden, Jack Selby, Rick Covert, and Sam Romano.

Roofman is set to open in theaters on October 10, 2025.
