Fans are wondering about Michael B. Jordan’s potential return largely due to Ryan Coogler’s recent comments. While speaking to ComicBook.com, the Black Panther director was asked whether he had any cast members from his latest feature, Sinners, in mind for a role in Black Panther 3. In response, Coogler declined to answer. “I love you for asking that,” he told the interviewer, adding, “I can neither confirm nor deny. I’mma plead the fifth.”

This almost inevitably led to fans wondering whether Jordan would return in Black Panther 3. Notably, Jordan plays twins Elijah “Smoke” Moore and Elias “Stack” Moore in Sinners. A user with the handle @ZacPrimus shared on X (formerly Twitter), “Welcome back, Killmonger.”

Meanwhile, @AuloxNFT shared a still from Sinners featuring the Moore twins, effectively suggesting the same thing as @ZacPrimus. A user with the handle @english_shamar commented, “Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan need to go for that second three-peat. That streak needs to extend to six.” In addition, @QgtharoninSaki noted that Jordan was previously part of the first two Black Panther movies as Killmonger.

Black Panther 3 remains one of the most highly anticipated movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Back in late 2022, Coogler and Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige revealed that they had a conversation about a potential third feature.

Earlier this month, Coogler confirmed that two-time Oscar winner Denzel Washington would appear in Black Panther 3, several months after the iconic actor revealed that he was part of the cast.

Black Panther 3 currently doesn’t have a release date.
