Avengers: Doomsday Filming Led Marvel to Pay Millions to Royal Family

Marvel Studios has reportedly paid millions to the British Royal Family to carry out the filming of Avengers: Doomsday. The movie is currently in production and is expected to be released in December 2026. Helmed by Joe and Anthony Russo, it features Robert Downey Jr. returning to Marvel but as a villain, Doctor Doom.

Why Marvel paid Millions to British Royal Family for Avengers: Doomsday

The British Royal Family has reportedly received a huge some of money from Marvel Studios for them to film Avengers: Doomsday at Windsor Great Park. According to a report by The Irish Sun, a source revealed that King Charles has been made aware of the developments that the studio is set to make in the park for the movie.

Additionally, the money is said to be the park maintenance fee that the studio was required to pay to the Royal Family. The source conveyed, “Several million pounds is chicken feed to Marvel when their movies make billions. But the money will go to the upkeep of Windsor Great Park, so the King, of course, has a keen interest. Some of the profits of Crown Estates make their way to the Royal Family, so it’s a win-win for everyone.”

The source also stated that the Royal Family may also be invited to the set in the park to see the shooting. “The Royal Family may even be persuaded to pop by and have a look at Thor in action.”

Further information shared by the source suggests that there will be up to 300 crew and cast members at the park while filming over the summer. Details regarding the scenes that are to be shot at the site are currently unknown. However, one of the set pieces might reportedly be Luke Cage’s house.

As of now, neither Marvel Studios nor the British Royal Family have confirmed the report.
