Fantastic Four MCU Movie’s Runtime Is Shorter Than Expected

The Fantastic Four: First Steps will be the shortest Marvel Cinematic Universe movie released this year.

Last month, AMC Theatres listed a runtime of two hours and 10 minutes, or 130 minutes, for the Fantastic Four reboot, which would have made it one of the longest MCU movies released since the start of the Multiverse Saga. However, with a month to go until First Steps hits theaters, the theater chain has updated the movie’s runtime, shaving off almost half an hour.

How long is the Fantastic Four MCU movie’s runtime?

AMC Theatres‘ website now states that The Fantastic Four: First Steps has a runtime of one hour and 55 minutes, or 115 minutes. While that’s still a record for the Fantastic Four franchise, First Steps is now on the opposite end of the Multiverse Saga’s runtime lengths, especially when looking at the last six MCU movies released.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is still the longest at 150 minutes, followed by Deadpool & Wolverine at 128 minutes, Thunderbolts* at 127 minutes, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania at 124 minutes, and Captain America: Brave New World at 118 minutes. The only MCU movie released in the last three years with a shorter runtime than The Fantastic Four: First Steps is The Marvels, which clocked in at a brisk 105 minutes.

Directed by Matt Shakman, The Fantastic Four: First Steps is scheduled to hit theaters on July 25, 2025.
