X-Men: Avatar 2’s Jack Champion on if He’ll Play Cyclops in Marvel’s Reboot
With rumors about the cast for the upcoming X-Men reboot in the MCU continuing to swirl online, actor Jack Champion has addressed the rumors linking him to the role of Cyclops in the currently untitled film. In a recent interview, the up-and-coming actor expressed his enthusiasm for the idea of him playing the MCU’s Scott Summers. Here’s what he had to say about the rumors.
Jack Champion talks X-Men reboot rumors after Avatar 2
While speaking with Josh Wilding about his upcoming film Everything’s Going to Be Great, Jack Champion talked about the idea of him appearing in Marvel’s X-Men reboot as Cyclops. Champion first gained worldwide notoriety for portraying Miles “Spider” Socorro in Avatar 2, and rumors about his potential casting first surfaced in January 2025. However, Champion noted that he wasn’t aware of them at all. “It’s, uh, definitely news to me,” the 20-year-old actor said.
While Jack Champion reiterated that his much-discussed involvement in the X-Men reboot cast is purely speculative at the moment, he did admit that the proposition was attractive. “I mean, I don’t…I hope it comes true, you know. I would definitely love to play that character, but…rumours,” he said.
If Jack Champion does end up securing the role of Cyclops in Marvel’s X-Men film, it would mark the second time he’ll feature in the ever-expanding MCU. Champion previously made a brief appearance in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame, portraying a boy on a bike who rides past Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang while he tries to figure out the aftermath of the Blip.
It was recently reported that Jake Schreier, who directed the MCU’s Thunderbolts* movie, will be taking over the directing duties for the untitled X-Men reboot. However, Marvel Studios has yet to share any details regarding the cast or the release window of the film.
